Grand Canyon Tour from Las Vegas

Grand Canyon Tour from Las Vegas

Of all the trips you can take from Las Vegas, the helicopter tour is probably the most famous. But you don't have to fly to appreciate the beauty of the Grand Canyon. There are tours to please any traveler.

It is about 270 miles to the Grand Canyon and you'll begin any Las Vegas Grand Canyon tour with that trip. By plane this takes less than an hour. Helicopter tours can leave from Las Vegas, giving you a tour of the city, or depart from Grand Canyon airport in Tusayun.

You can tour by bus, helicopter or plane, you can even do all three in one tour. Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas include river rafting as well as other, less well known types of tours.

You can take a Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas by Jeep, SUV, even Hummer. Many native peoples guide or run tours. Their ancestors have been in the area for hundreds of years (at least). Count on getting insights you wouldn't expect.

A lot of the folks who run the Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas have been here, living in and loving the canyon for their entire lives. Jeep tours are intimate, bus tours less so, but more laid back. With a bus tour you also get huge windows and air conditioning (a real plus in the desert!).

If you want a really great experience, well, some people say the only way to see it is from the air. Actually, just seeing the Grand Canyon is a treat, but the Las Vegas Grand Canyon air tour is very exciting!

Airplane tours give you a great vantage point of the entire canyon, helicopters have more flexibility to go into the recesses of the canyon. Bus tours are more relaxing and good for those who may not want to bounce around too much. SUV, Jeep and Hummer tours are very intimate, since it is your guide and only a few people, maybe just your own family.

Depending on the tour and company you choose, you'll see great canyon scenery (of course) ancient Indian ruins, petroglyphs or pictographs, waterfalls, river crossings and history on your Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas.

Bus tours often stop for photos at the Hoover Dam and wind through great scenery like the Black Canyon while you learn about the area. Some Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas will even land you on the floor of the canyon (in a helicopter) for a picnic lunch. Add horseback riding, steak dinners and train tours that will take you to great scenic vistas. There's more to do than you'll have time for.

Tour working ranches or go horseback riding yourself. Fly over Las Vegas at night. Rafting trips can be as short or long as you like. Some trips offer rafting for part of the day, other activities for the rest. You can go skydiving over Las Vegas (too bad you can't skydive over the canyon itself). You can even take a Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas of Area 51, where the alien ship is supposedly kept. :-)

By helicopter, you can fly out from Las Vegas, view the lava fields of the San Francisco peaks, the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon (where you can land on floor) and the Black Canyon. Your Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas can last from a few hours to an entire 12 hour day. Breakfast, lunch or dinner flights are available too.

There are also tons of combination tours. Fly and raft, fly, Hummer and Jet Ski, fly, raft and hike, and some with no flying at all. Well, too many for me to list here! But if you're looking for a Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas check out Grand Canyon Tour & Travel.

Whatever you choose to do, have a great trip!
