Skywalk Resort Grand Canyon

When it's completed, the new Skywalk Resort Grand Canyon West is going to be quite a sight! An old western town, Indian Village and other attractions will put the Hualapai Tribe on the map in years to come.

They're also working on the Skywalk project, scheduled to be completed in 2006. Then we'll see who has the guts to walk out on the glass-bottomed Grand Canyon Skywalk.

Stay at the Hualapai Lodge in Peach Springs and get to know the friendly folks who run the place. They also have a campground, and you'll find gas and food in town. If you want to drive up from Vegas, it's a 3 hour drive to the resort. Read reviews of the Skywalk Resort Grand Canyon here

The Diamond Creek Restaurant is an interesting and reasonably priced eatery right in the Hualapai Lodge. If you've always wanted to taste fry bread, this is your chance! The restaurant also offers more familiar American favorites and a soda fountain.

Grand Canyon West already recieves about 250,000 visitors a year, the Hualapai hope to double that number in the next few years. Looks like this will really be a hopping place. Even today, it's still a great alternative to the crowds and noise of Grand Canyon Village. In recent years they've added an Indian Village complete with dancing, Cowboy BBQ (recommended) and much more.

You can Get Skywalk Tickets Here.

The Grand Canyon Skywalk Resort is lower in elevation than Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim so visiting in the hottest part of summer is not recommended. Spring, Fall and even winter trips are good choices. The temperature at Grand Canyon West is appoximately the same as what you'll find in Las Vegas. Be ready for sun and wind. It is also expensive. Be prepared to spend your dough for this unique experience. Learn more at my Grand Canyon Skywalk page.

From their Press Release:

"Attractions available at Grand Canyon West include The Indian Village with authentic dwellings, The Hualapai Market, and The Hualapai Ranch, a western town with horseback and wagon rides. Grand Canyon West is the only location throughout the entire Grand Canyon where visitors can access the river and water recreation activities at the bottom of the canyon via helicopter tours. In addition to boat tours on the river, Hummer tours are available along the rim of the canyon and through private areas that are otherwise inaccessible to the public"

So check out the Skywalk Resort Grand Canyon. With fewer tourists and interesting attractions, it just might be your best vacation yet.
